Purpose Statement:

The purpose of VCS athletics is to play, perform and cheer in such a way that produces competitive teams while also challenging students to grow in their relationship with Christ both on and off the field of play.

Eligibility

All students who wish to play athletics at Valley Christian School must do the following.

1. Have an up to date physical on file at the office prior to the first practice of that season (physicals are good for two years).
2. Must (along with a parent) sign the code of conduct form that challenges students to model a Christ like attitude at all times.
3. Must (along with a parent) sign a Concussion Information sheet that details warning signs and symptoms associated with head injuries.
4. Students must also maintain a GPA at or above a 2.0 (C or 76%) in each class throughout the sports season.

Sports at VCS

Students have a unique opportunity through the sports program at VCS that differs from those found elsewhere. Athletes can be assured that they have a coach that cares about their personal and spiritual development as much as their on the field performance. Mentorship is valued in the sports program at VCS as we realize the large majority of these athletes will not play competitively beyond their high school years but we trust the lessons learned in being a student/athlete will help guide them throughout their adult life.

Coaching at VCS

At times VCS is looking to hire coaches to support our athletic programs. If you are interested in coaching or being considered for future coaching openings please fill out a coaching application found on this site and turn it into the main office. Coaches must have experience and knowledge in the sport or activity they are interested in and be equally committed to the faith development of their players.
